Coal and wood ash

Coal and wood ash cannot be recycled in your local council’s kerbside recycling bin, box or bag.

Coal and wood ash (cold) can be disposed of in your rubbish bin.

Wood ash is also excellent for placing around the garden as a soil improver, as it contains valuable minerals, or place it in your compost bin or heap, in small quantities.

HOUSEHOLD WASTE FACTS:

Most household waste types can be recycled or disposed of at local Household Waste Recycling Centres.
